Connects2 or Parrot Multican with Parrot CK3100
« on: April 15, 2011, 07:26:31 pm »
I'm thinking of getting a CK3100 with steering wheel controls and wondered if there was any difference in functionality between the 2 above systems and the MFSW features ?

Thanks

Parrot generally is more updateable and has better phone support all round. I had a CK3100 in mine and it was very good.

VCDS Scanning/Coding, RNS and MDI retrofits, and specialist mechanics services with VAGtek available - Just PM me for details.

Alex, these are just ways of connecting the Parrot to the car. Both use the Parrot blue box.

I had the connects2 rig on my old Golf (with a CK3000 Evo) and it worked fantastically well, and was totally plug and play. Not a single wire (including a switched live) needed to be messed with. Just plugged it all in and it just worked and brilliantly.

Also, the connects2 brain (a small electronic box) is totally configurable depending if you have the earlier double phone buttons on your MFSW or the later style single ones. Also, as I purchased mine second hand, it didn't come with any instructions. I found that a quick email to quickconnects in the US was all it took, and the customer service from them (especially an individual called Howard) was nothing short of stunning.

The Parrot multican may well have the same functionality, but I have no experience of these.

Sorry read it wrong! The connect two is more configurable and is direct plug and play as opposed to the parrot which requires you to tap into can high and can low

Ok sounds like connects2 all the way then, so I need a connects2 box, a ck3100 and a VW quadlock harness and that will give me everything i need to fit it ??
